Reasonably comfortable hotel in downtown Sydney. I would say it's 2.5 - 3 stars in North American standards. Service is decent. The location is great, can walk to all major attractions. Underground parking lot is small - very easy to scrap your car.”
This hotel is modern and beautiful in a weird corner of Sydney right near Chinatown. There are buses nearby but the staff were not always able to help us get to where we were going. Internet prices in the hotel were crazy expensive but there are loads of nearby Internet cafes. Housekeeping was weird - some days they came, some not, some days they cleaned our towels when we didn't ask and some days we were short of toilet paper and soap because none was left in the room.”
this hotel is excellently situated next to darling harbour with easy access to all the attractions. we enjoyed our 6 night stay there and can highly recommend it.the staff were effiecient, friendly and helpful.”
The staff of the Pensione Hotel Melbourne were extremely helpful in getting our room available for occupation eraly. Were going to the races in Flemington Park and nned to change into our 'racing' clothes. We only stayed one night in the hotel but will be returning later in November.”
I stayed here for a single night looking for a well located, cheap room. Got everything I wanted. Cheap nights accom, friendly service, fantastic location and clean. Very close to the station and the casino. I will happily stay there for similar reasons in the future. Not one to take the missus for a dirty weekend though unless you are planning on living out the cheap city hooker fantasy.”
The greatest plus is the location. It is very conveniently located very close to Flinders Station( just cross the bridge) from where every thing happens. The Waterfront shopping and dining area is very close and for those who wish to have fast food there are plenty of options- McDonald/ Subway etc,The supermarkets is close to Flinders. The Eureka skydeck is adjacent , Aquariam is close and ofcouse the Trams from Flinders for any close by sightseeing. The only negative i would say is that the room sizes were small . Overall take it for the location”
Conveniently positioned at the quiet end of Brisbane CBD about 15 minute easy walk to CBD and immediately opposite Roma Street Parklands. The bus stops at the front of the Hotel. I had a clean and comfortable room with a nice view across the Parklands.”
Room had some stale dampness smell. Several cigarette butts on balcony. Otherwise looked modern and seemed neat and tidy. The reasons I am not rating this higher are due to these items, and the fact that I was put in a room next to the lift, on the first floor (hence lift always go past it), with only a view to the neighbour's house and other building 20m away (claustrophobic).”
Very much enjoyed my stay at the Portal Hotel. Not the greatest location as it's a fairly commercial neighbourhood but it's not a long walk to the Valley or the CBD and there is public transit not far away. The room was quite small (walls were about 2 feet away from all three sides of the bed) but clean and comfortable. There was no tub in the bathroom but the shower was very nice.”
Although an expensive hotel, the overall experience was delightfull, good value for the money, the bed was amazing with comfortable linens and pillows, needs some minor cleaning of the room, and the chair on ther balcony was broken. The staff were helpfull and were there for your every need. The hotel is close to all shopping restaurants and reef boats.”
This hotel was right on the marina in Cairns and only a short walk from the mains streets of Cairns. Our room was beautiful with a huge bed and balcony. The pool was also very nice and the poolside bar which did food and drinks was very convienient. The tour desk at the hotel organised 2 tours for us and we were picked up and dropped off at the hotel. The only negative is that there is a slight smell in the halls but it didnt bother us too much as the room did not smell. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this hotel.”
I had a nice stay in hides hotel. Perfect location minutes walk from marina, nice breakfast and staff. The only minus-It was bit loud on the weekend even with closed windows. even though highly recommended ;)”
