This hotel is very central to all the sights in Sydney. The reception staff are very accommodating and professional. The hotel is very well run and is near the CBD free Sydney shuttle which runs every 10 minutes and routes around many of Sydneys main sights. It is also close to the bus stops for Bondi beach and other bus routes. Would highly recommend this hotel.”
This hotel is modern and beautiful in a weird corner of Sydney right near Chinatown. There are buses nearby but the staff were not always able to help us get to where we were going. Internet prices in the hotel were crazy expensive but there are loads of nearby Internet cafes. Housekeeping was weird - some days they came, some not, some days they cleaned our towels when we didn't ask and some days we were short of toilet paper and soap because none was left in the room.”
Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Its location near Wynard Station makes travel around Sydney and area very easy. It is within a short walk to the central busienss area, Circular Quay, and the great shopping on Georges Street and Westfield MallThis is our second visit to Sydney from Canada and the second time we have stayed at this hotel.”
The staff of the Pensione Hotel Melbourne were extremely helpful in getting our room available for occupation eraly. Were going to the races in Flemington Park and nned to change into our 'racing' clothes. We only stayed one night in the hotel but will be returning later in November.”
The greatest plus is the location. It is very conveniently located very close to Flinders Station( just cross the bridge) from where every thing happens. The Waterfront shopping and dining area is very close and for those who wish to have fast food there are plenty of options- McDonald/ Subway etc,The supermarkets is close to Flinders. The Eureka skydeck is adjacent , Aquariam is close and ofcouse the Trams from Flinders for any close by sightseeing. The only negative i would say is that the room sizes were small . Overall take it for the location”
I have always stayed here since about 15 years ago. It is very reasonable and location is so good, being a short walk to Crown Casino, Etihad Stadium and so much more. The accomodation is comfortable and staff are very friendly and helpful.”
I liked the place, very relaxed as we were there in the off season so there weren't many people on the island. Our room although comfortable had some black ants making a bit of a mess but apart from that all good. Heaps of wild life from Goannas, Gehkos to Kookas. Didn't see the staff that much, really only on check in and check out.”
My brief business stay was trouble free with excellent views from my room, loverly food served promptly and all of my interactions with all staff friendly but very helpfull to my requests, I'm certainly making my next booking at The Marriot without hesitation on my next visit to Brisbane.”
The hotel is great, in a very good location easy walk down to main mall in Brisbane, can even reach Southbank on foot from here about 10 -15 min walk. I would recommend and would stay here again on my next visit.”
We recently stayed at the Hilton Cairns (October 2010). It is very centrally located. The hotel was reasonably clean (not sure anything was dusted but bathrooms were clean) and the front desk staff were helpful. I didn't appreciate being charged for every little thing. We had to pay to BORROW towels for our boating tour, very expensive Wifi access in your room and the two free computers available in the lobby were always busy, high parking charges, etc. Most importanty for us - the hotel didn't have laundry facilities available for guests to use and we learned that most other full service 4 and 5 star hotels in the area did. We ended up taking our clothes to a laundromat 4 blocks away. The front desk staff were very helpful and kind. The one concierge was not very helpful or friendly - we waited until the other woman started her shift the next day. I wouldn't stay there again given that we could stay for less money at several nearby hotels with just the same facilities and location convenience.”
While the hotel facilities are lovely and impeccably maintained, it is the wonderful staff who help any guests in their charge leave at the end of their stay with fond memories of many special pampered moments. We upgraded to a Horizon Club room on check-in for a modest fee per night. With that we were given a larger room with a bay view (spacious and lovely with a balcony). In addition the upgrade also included a buffet breakfast for two, and complimentary evening (5-7 pm) cocktails and hors d'oeuvres buffet. The Horizon rooms are located on the second floor. It includes a complimentary Business Centre to access the internet and print and fax documents, as well as the Horizon Club lounge. You more than get your money's worth with the upgrade and I highly recommend it. The hotel's location is ideal. Easy access to the marina where Great Barrier Reef tours depart from (200 meters) and a 5 minute walk to the downtown shopping area and restaurants. For a first rate hotel experience in Cairns, this hotel delivers.”
We arrived early and could get into one of our rooms which was very much aprrediated. The men who helped us book our outtings were very helpful and saved us some money on our trips. It would be nice to have a few more food choices but overall it was a great experience. Thanks.”
