I was actually a little disappointed with this hotel. Of course it is well located and luxurious but for the price, it should be exceptional and without any bad points. First I was looking forward to the view but the front view towards Shinjuku seems reserved for the most expensive rates. For the quite high rates, I was also disappointed with the hard bed (having been in China for many months, I know this is normal overthere, but in luxurious hotels in Japan, usually the beds are very confortable). Despite some reviews I had rate, the view from the Cerulean tower (except if among the really lucky few) are not as great as from the Mitsui Garden in Ginza or the Park Hotel”
Shinjuku Prince Hotel offers comfortable stays. Certainly this hotel established somewhere in the early 80s has already somewhat declined from its earlier highest ranks from the very top of hotels in Tokyo. Nevertheless, it still offers well functioning services in its fully redecorated rooms. The concierge service (Bell master) is exceptional, the reception works hassle free. The surrounding area in the closest proximity to the hotel at the eastern exit of Shinjuku station (Kabukicho) did also peak commercially already in the 80's and 90's. Still it offers abundance of cheap joints to eat and drink, and if you are to tolerate a minor annoyance of small numbers of hustlers and bouncers addressing you in the evenings, this area gets to well settled in Tokyo. All in all, if you do not seek for the starts or romance, but rather a high class budget stay in a very practical and convenient spot in Tokyo, Prince is still rockin' and will suits your needs.”
In my experience, there was no nonsense and my stay with this hotel was simply pleasant. The staff was helpful. A cosy lounge for reading newspapers turned out very important, especially because of the space of the so-called 'Tokyo size' room. My room was a comfortable double bed for a single person, where everything was clean, compact and tidy. One good service of this hotel is that you can get a free movie view card from the reception if you opt for an eco-housekeeping that encourages all to reduce unnecessary laundary of linens. It is conveniently located in central Ginza and you will have no difficulty finding travellers' amenities in the neighbourhood. My room was free from any noise, and I suppose this hotel is not exposed to an external source of annoying noise, despite just two narrow blocks off the busy street. Check-out was virtually only to say 'good morning and thank you' but nothing else, very fast, since payment was made on-line and there was no other change. As I mentioned, if you do not mind the Tokyo size room, this hotel will be an excellent value for money for many.”
My husband and I and our son visited Japan to see our younger son who lives in Sapporo. We met him in Kyoto to explore the area. This hotel is across from the castle and near a subway station. The rooms are very spacious and we met in the lounge for continental breakfast every morning--great start for the day of exploring. There is also a beautiful garden that is visible from 2 of the restaurants. I loved everything about the hotel-staff were helpful for local restaurants also. If I ever visit Kyoto again I will stay here.”
Quite central. About 2 train station rides into the heart of town. Or 15min walk. Room is Japanese style. You make your beds and turn them into couches for the day. Housekeeping cleans it daily and helps you stack the linen properly back into the cupboard. Breakfast bento is delivered each morning so one less hassle of going to source brekky. Convenience stores aplenty nearby.”
The Hearton in Kyoto is a bit expensive for the small size (at least by Canadian standards) however the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly, which I expected given it's Japan, and the location was close to restaurants and public transport. Would stay there again and definitely recommend.”
This hotel is conviently located to the subway and the JR line. Close to Namba center and Dotonbori. The staff is pleasant and helpful The only fault I found was the room had a weird smell to it, it might related to the cleaning agent they were using during our stay. It didn't bother me too much. The room was a good size and the beds were pretty comfortable. Next time I'm in Osaka I will definitely stay here again.”
There's an airport limousine (bus) that you can take from the airport that takes about 40 minutes. It drops you at Hotel Herbis, which is about a block and a half away from the Hotel Monterey. The service is great. The room is a tiny bit small and the bed's a hard, but nothing to really complain about because the service is great and the location is fantastic. If I go to visit Osaka again, I most likely will be staying here again.”
Very nice hotel. Close to JR train station just across walking bridge. Easy walking distance to Osaka Castle. Staff was helpful. No English channels available on tv. No reading lamps on beds. Otherwise, comfortable and larger rooms than many Japanese business hotels.”
Very nice hotel next to JR train station. Staff was great. One desk clerk walked us about a block in the rain to show us how to get to the other side of the train station. Wow! nice ammenities in room.”
Very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, had a love sear & chair in the sitting area of our 2 twin beds room. Also had the fortune to be there when the shrine next door was having a 2 day celebration for the fall festival. Lots of pop up food vendors and stage performances by many kimono clad dance groups.”
surprising good hotel couple of blocks from peace park.... which is why you would go to Hiroshima not much english spoken great views from upper levels upgraded room for low cost... worth it only complaint which seems common of Japanese hotels is the charge of around $us35 just to use the pool and gym facilities (which were pretty basic but had a lot of staff and no clients) there is a Sogo next door and around 30 places to eat close enough to JR station and trams would stay there again the tepinyaki on L6 is fantastic... but a bit expensive”
