Staff pleasant and friendly, food excellent at breakfast. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Clean and fresh. Nice touches such as complimentary fruit plate and water on arrival, bath robes to use and one of the nicest array toiletries we have used in hotels. Beautiful view of beach. Little touches that make the difference to a stay were all there.”
This hotel was really nice for our weekend in Tel Aviv. It's family friendly with reasonably priced suites and located right on the beach. The hotel offers beach towels to guests which is very convenient. The hotel has a nice lobby with a seating area and complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks. The included breakfast at the restaurant next door was delicious. The housekeeping staff was very attentive and the beds/bedding was very comfortable. Only negative is that their parking lot is very small and parking outside the lot can be expensive. The Opera building a block away has a good rate for parking for guests who don't get a spot in the hotel lot.”
we had a wonderful time at the savoy. we love designed hotels and this hotel fit the bill. the staff was very friendly, breakfast was great and we loved the proximity to the beach without being one of those huge hotels on Hayarkon street. we can strongly recommend the Savoy HOtel which felt like a family business. I stayed at the hotel for 3 days on my own, and though the rooms are pricey, they are absolutely stunning and extremely comfortable. The bed is so comfortable you don't ever want to get up! And the breakfast is huge and very tasty. Good location, a ten minute walk to the Old City. Delicious food, amazing garden and a very nice pool. Wifi is free and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant, especially in the garden. A hotel I would definitely recommend to others and come back to myself!”
there were some beggars around hotel area asking money. I gave one some coins but he kept following asking "paper money". A hotel security person said it's ok but the bagger made me very scared. Be careful when you walk around the area from the bridge.”
The Hotel's location to the Old City is a big draw. Gym had a ew machines, but no one else was in there when I was, so that worked out well. Room was clean, though the fake ceiling in the bathroom made the tub\shower feel small. The concierge helped arrange for a driver to take me to Nethlehem and Hebron, which made that trip easy.”
Best breakfast I've ever seen in Israel, which was included in the price. Room was nice, faced the sea and I had a small balcony. Balconies are on every other floor. Pool was beautiful. My only complaint was the hotel turns off the air conditioning in all the guest rooms (not public areas), and the room was quite warm, fairly uncomfortaable for sleeping. Opening the sliding door to the ouside was not an option since it was very noisy on the strip.”
The entrance to the lobby is on the opposite side of the building from the main road into Eilat, which made it a little hard to find. Our room was on the same side of the building as the front door and away from the airport side, so we did not really notice the noise from the planes. there was construction going on across the street, but again not excessive. The staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was nice with a good mix of hot food and salads. Our last day there the coffee machine was out of order, but that was the worst. The walk to the beach/boardwalk was an easy 5-10 minutes. There was singing and entertainment in the evenings, which we are not really into, but there was a good turnout and they all seamed like they were enjoying themselves. it did seam fairly loud walking through the lobby and I'm not sure if it carried to the floor above, but we were glad that we were on the 7th just in case. This hotel reminded me of a Super 8, again a nice hotel for the money.”
The hotel is in a beautiful, private location, with a nice breakfast & beautiful view of the beach. However, the only good service came from the Tuk Tuk driver - which others have complained about. Ordered room service the first night as we were tired: it took several calls to get them to respond. The menu selections & food itself was mediocre at best. A waitress took a drink order from me at the pool for a beer, and never returned - which is odd. Also, the wi-fi never worked. The rooms themselves could use a bit of sprucing up, but the bed was very comfortable. So, if you want a nice private setting away from the sleaze of Eilat, I highly recommend this hotel, but don't expect much in terms of service from the staff.”
Our room was large, well appointed, and attractive. Quite luxurious, really. The service was suburb and the staff wonderfully helpful. Our room had a window that overlooked the Sea of Galilee, which is good. What it not so good is that the beach view from our window was littered with tires and cans. Also, the year-round heated pool which figures prominently in the hotel's ads, was closed and torn-up for renovation by excavation crews. We were not informed of this beforehand and the constuction site was directly in our window's field of view right next to he littered beach. So as long as we gazed at the Sea and not the shoreline, our view was very nice. Another point is that internet access is an extra cost option at this hotel which seems petty for such an expensive and well-appointed hotel. Even so, the hotel's elegant interior, spacious rooms, spa, fine service, locationn and history make it worth considering. Despite the gripes, we enjoyed our stay.”
The Astoria Galilee is a perfectly decent and comfortable hotel and offers a few features above its price range. Clean rooms, good breakfast, nice pool area. Better for the more independent type of tourist. Excellent base for touring theGalilee.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The service was impeccable, the location in the heart of the historic town of Tiberias with great views of the Lake of Galilee is unmatched. The antique room, we stayed in, was beautiful and had all amenities you expect from a five star hotel and a view of the Kineret (Lake of Galilee). Highly recommended!”
