The cosmopolitan city of Sydney has a wide array of attractions and activities for tourists to enjoy whilst on vacation. Whether it's nightlife activities, shopping, great food and drink, there are plenty of great spots to visit.

With great weather year-round, Sydney enjoys fantastic outdoor attractions such as beautiful beaches and challenging golf courses. Bondi Beach is popular and provides a host of things to see and do. Darling Harbour is a great spot and has countless shops, eateries and entertainment.

Sydney also has a plethora of family attractions and activities to enjoy such as the harbor-side Taronga Zoo, which is located in the suburb of Mosman. Other activities include 10-pin bowling, amusement parks and a multitude of city parks offering picnic spots and grass areas to kick a ball.

The Rocks

The historic Rocks area is the oldest part of Sydney, being the first area to be built upon when it was settled in 1788. There are numerous attractions to visit as well as charming old pubs which offer a great place to enjoy lunch or an afternoon beer. Along the harbor front area of the Rocks are street performers and food stalls which provide a great atmosphere.

Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach is world famous and extremely popular with locals and tourists year round, providing not only fantastic sand and water activities, but also a host of trendy bars, pubs, cafés and shops. Bondi Beach is easily reached from the CBD, with buses, trains and taxis making the journey in around 30 minutes.

Golf

Golf is a popular pastime in Sydney and there is a plethora of golf courses spread over the city. Located relatively close to the CBD are several courses including Moore Park Golf Club and Royal Sydney Golf Club, which is one of the top courses in Australia and host to various competitions throughout the year.

Darling Harbour

Darling Harbour is situated in the heart of the city and is home to an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants as well as tourist attractions and street entertainment. The area is popular, particularly on weekends, with local families and at night, with party-goers as there are numerous trendy clubs and bars to visit.

Taronga Zoo

Located along the harbor foreshore of the Sydney suburb of Mosman, Taronga Zoo is an excellent family attraction that offers a host of native Australian wildlife as well as some exotic animals from around the world including bears, tigers and pandas. The zoo has multiple eateries and souvenir shops and is easily accessible by bus, ferry or taxi.

Nightlife

Sydney's nightlife is vast and varied with something to suit all tastes and preferences. There are numerous all-night discos as well as trendy harbor side bars providing a place for fashionable and hip party-goers. Darling Harbour and King Street Wharf are known for their cosmopolitan clubs while the Kings Cross red light district and Oxford Street nightlife spots offer something a little seedier.
