The Peak towers over the island and this is a good place to start exploring. From here visitors are offered stunning vistas of the entire island, sweeping down to Victoria harbor and a number of pretty parks.

Hong Kong is full of ancient temples, and visitors who are interested in studying Buddhism will have the perfect opportunity to do so here. Hong Kong is the place where Eastern tradition meets Western capitalism and after spending time exploring the temple visitors can browse for bargains in modern shopping malls, dine in style in gourmet restaurants and soak up Hong Kong's vibrant nightlife.

The Peak

Take the Peak tram from the Lower Peak Tram Terminus on Garden Road to the very top for simply stunning views of Hong Kong. This is a good place to appreciate the harmony of sparkling skyscrapers positioned amongst grassy hillsides.

Victoria Harbour

Best viewed after dark, this is one of the most stunning sights in Hong Kong. Visitors will find a number of restaurants, bars and other businesses located in this area. A good way to see the area's true beauty is by taking a ride on the Star Ferry.

Happy Valley Racecourse

Located in the expat neighborhood of Hong Kong, the Happy Valley Racecourse was first opened in 1846 and has played an important role in Hong Kong's history. Races are generally held from September to July and there is also an informative museum here.

Ocean Park

Opened in 1977, Ocean Park features a large number of rides, exhibits and animals such as giant pandas, cute red pandas and Chinese giant salamanders. Visitors can get here by taking bus 629 from MTR Admiralty Station Exit B.

Man Mo Temple

Located on Hollywood Road, this is Hong Kong's oldest temple as it was built in the 1840s. This famous temple is home to two gods and is surrounded by a number of interesting antique shops.
