There are three lakes which provide perfect spots for an afternoon picnic or walk around the paved pathways. Visitors can choose to have a guided town of the grounds or explore at their own leisure.

Asian Civilisations Museum

The Asian Civilisations Museum is one of the best museums in Singapore and has a wide variety of information and artefacts from Asian countries. Housed in Empress Place Building, which is a British colonial building, the museum provides an in-depth look at the historic past of China, India, Malaysia and Singapore. For tourists who want to learn more about the history of Asia, visiting this museum should be included in the list of things to do in Singapore.

Thian Hock Keng Temple

Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of the oldest and most significant Chinese temples in Singapore, originally built by the first Chinese sailors who arrived to the shores of Singapore. This landmark that stands today was completed in 1842 and is an architectural masterpiece using wood, marble, stone and tiles.

National Museum of Singapore

The recently reopened National Museum of Singapore is a fantastic educational centre with state-of-the-art multimedia displays, large walk-through exhibits and extensive artefact collections. There are free tours throughout the day and guests can also peruse the museum at their own leisure.

Singapore Zoo

Located in the west of the island, Singapore Zoo is a fantastic animal park with modern facilities and a wide selection of wildlife from around the world. The zoo has extensive collections of Asian animals as well as creatures from Australia, Africa and North America. The Night Safari is a separate section of the zoo and has an open enclosure with different species of animals living together.
